INTERIM vs. CONSULTANTS
IM recommends a route, achieves the required agreements, and proposes
changes, including the implementation of needed solutions. Their
practical experience and their proven expertise are essential for this. They achieve
the necessary agreements and face changes and even implements the necessary solutions
An IM normally works in one project at a time with full time commitment,
they may however in occasions do it on a “Part time basis” if it is more convenient
for the client, their contributions are generally “full mind” in the tasks assigned
Though in occasions, a " part –time” solution could be the best for the company,
their full mind contribution in the assigned topics and contained in required urgencies.
The CONSULTANTS on the other hand ( because the nature of their role) tend to
recommend a fan of alternatives and lets the client decide and implement some of
the proposals. In general they are in depth experts in analying theory and technology, but
they are not committed to prioritize the practical experience of an accountable and
functional manager. They are as a rule more expensive, and they work in several projects
and problems simultaneously.
CONSULTANTS are normally independent advisers with a significant professional
experience. Generally they work provoking “brain storms” and discussions of ideas
that guide the executive Team, but they do not execute and implement the
proposed solutions. They are not “accountable”.
